L’échec du raid lancé sur la capitale tchadien en février dernier aurait été dû notamment à une querelle de leadership entre le général Mahamat Nouri de l’UFDD (aujourd’hui chef de l’Alliance nationale) et Timane Erdimi du RFC.

(Quelle: Tschadactuel) Dans un communiqué remis à la presse mardi à Bruxelles, le conseil des ministres des Affaires étrangères, fait savoir que la participation russe sera limitée au transport des soldats de l'EUFOR ainsi que de la MINURCAT, la mission civile de l'ONU, en cours de déploiement dans les deux pays africains où on compte 12 camps de réfugiés soudanais, et de déplacés tchadiens et centrafricains, abritant quelque 400.000 rescapés.
African Union to send peace mission to Chad and Sudan (12.10.2008)

'The African Union Commission is dispatching a mission to Chad... led by Burundi’s former president Pierre Buyoya,' following a decision in June by the bloc’s Peace and Security Council (PSC), the AU said in a statement. … In June the 15-member PSC — Africa’s top conflict prevention body — asked the AU Commission to send a mission to the two countries to gather information on their shared border and try to mediate a peace deal.
Aid agencies suspend work in eastern Chad because of insecurity – UN (07.10.2008)

The officers – part of a new unit known as the Détachement Integré de Sécurité (DIS) – join 71 other police and gendarmerie commanders who graduated from the same scheme in June.
