ENTRi holds presentation at the Committee for Civilian Aspects of Crisis Management (CivCom) at the Council of the EU

The Committee for Civilian Aspects of Crisis Management (CivCom) advises the political and security committee on civilian aspects of crisis management. It prepares planning documents for new missions, makes recommendations and deals with the development of strategies for civilian crisis management and for civilian capabilities.

The ENTRi Project (Europe’s New Training Initiative for Civilian Crisis Management) held its annual presentation at the CivCom at the Council of the EU, which had been followed with great interest by all delegates of EU Member States. ENTRi presented last year’s activities as well as outlining future actions and plans. ENTRi’s efforts and approaches were appreciated and representative of the European Commission were likewise pleased.

New to the current third phase is the development of nine elaborate training packages to serve as a kind of tool-kit that offers trainers in missions and training institutes, a choice on course content and training methodologies. This shall give missions’ training units the opportunity to save valuable time since they will be able to select relevant training material and adapt it to their respective context.

There was also great interest in ENTRi’s Handbooks: Over 16.000 copies of ENTRi’s "In Control" are currently in circulation with a further 2.000 of the French Version "Garder le contrôle" having been printed. The handbook has been designed to accompany professionals on their way through crisis management missions and provides a general overview of the institutional landscape of crisis management as well as relevant concepts.
