New Mediation Potential Analysis Tool: Mediation Potential Screening - a joint publication by ZIF, CSSP and inmedio Berlin

A new publication in the field of peace mediation deals with entry points for mediation interventions in international peace processes. The so-called Mediation Potential Screening“ constitutes a decision tree developed jointly by ZIF, CSSP-Berlin Center for Integrative Mediation and inmedio Berlin  to assist in identifying possible entry points for international mediation engagement in complex peace processes on different levels of society.

The decision tree has been developed primarily for actors in the field who seek support in identifying entry points and assessing the potential and prospects of success of mediation interventions in a given context.

The MPS is the second publication in the “ZIF Tools” series which already saw the publication of the analysis and planning tool Strategic Action Matrix (SAM). Similar to the MPS, SAM's goal is to assist staff of international peacekeeping missions or of other organizations in the field to conduct conflict analysis and translate the results into strategic action.
