Local Ownership Project publishes final report

"Ownership in Practice. Lessons from Liberia and Kosovo"

ZIF's Project on Local Ownership has just published its final report entitled "Ownership in Practice. Lessons from Liberia and Kosovo" in the research series Forschung DSF of the German Foundation for Peace Research.

The project conducted an empirical study of peace operations in Kosovo (UNMIK) and Liberia (UNMIL) with a special focus on local ownership in the fields of elections and rule of law. The authors held over 150 semi-structured interviews during three field visits to both countries and organized expert workshops in Berlin, New York, Monrovia, and Accra.

Findings have already been included in parts of ZIF training courses, further research agendas on mentoring and advising, and in the ongoing work of the rule of law training project which is run in cooperation with UN DPKO.
