Mentoring Training for EULEX Kosovo

ZIF together with Dr. Hendrik Fuchs of the Ministry of the Interior of the Federal State of Saxony-Anhalt carried out an ‘in-mission’ mentoring training for the EULEX Mission in Kosovo from September 25-30, 2011. The training was part of the overall In-Service training organized by the mission for EULEX criminal judges, prosecutors, legal officers and legal advisors.

Modules focused on topics such as general aspects and definitions of mentoring, inter-cultural communication and developing strategies when facing resistance in mentoring. Participants were actively involved through exercises, role plays and group work. Furthermore, several interviews took place with mission members from the police and justice components to analyze the current state of mentoring in the field and adapt the training content accordingly. The cooperation between ZIF and the EULEX Mission is foreseen to continue in the future.
