Rule of Law Workshop in Cairo postponed

The turbulent situation in Egypt has led ZIF to postpone a workshop on “Islamic Law, the Rule of Law and International Peace Operations”.
From 21 to 23 February 2011, approx. 40 Islamic Law and Rule of Law experts as well as representatives of relevant international organizations and training centers were to discuss Islamic legal issues with special focus on the peace operations in Afghanistan, Somalia and Sudan.
The 2 ½ day event was to be held in Cairo by the ZIF Rule of Law Training Project in cooperation with the Cairo Center for Training on Conflict Resolution and Peacekeeping in Africa (CCCPA) and the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO).
