Workshop on Scenario Planning

„The Future of Peace Operations in the Year 2025“

ZIF’s project „Peace Operations – Fit for the Future“ aims to make a contribution to the conceptual development of peace operations. By looking ahead and deriving scenarios for peace operations of the year 2025, we want to open up new perspectives and stimulate dialogue among policy-makers and practitioners.

The first workshop in a series of three was held in Berlin from August 31 through September 2, 2011. It brought together an interdisciplinary group of experts and practitioners to systematically map trends, challenges, and other factors shaping the future terrain of peace operations.

The results of this workshop will lay ground for the next steps of this scenario building exercise planned for the end of this year.
