Meeting on Crisis Information Management

On 18 March representatives of the training organizations Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA), Crisis Management Centre Finland (CMC), Cairo Regional Center for Training on Conflict Resolution and Peacekeeping in Africa (CCCPA), African Peace Support Trainers' Association (APSTA), the Swiss NGO ICT4Peace as well as the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations (UNDPKO) discussed with ZIF the possibility of developing a training course on Crisis Information Management, specifically focused on the "Joint Mission Analysis Centers" (JMAC) of UN missions.

With regards to recent developments in Northern Africa, the topic of crisis information management is becoming increasingly important to UN Missions. The representatives agreed to conduct a pilot course at the CCCPA premises in Cairo in October 2011.
