Islamic Law Workshop in Cairo

From 15-16 June 2010, ZIF will organize a conference on "Islamic Law, the Rule of Law and International Peace Operations" in Cairo in close cooperation with its Egyptian partner institution Cairo Center for Training on Conflict Resolution and Peacekeeping in Africa (CCCPA) and the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO). Over 50 Egyptian and international experts on Islamic Law, the rule of law, and peacekeeping discuss Islamic legal issues with special focus on the peace operations in Afghanistan, Somalia and Sudan. The conference is part of the ZIF Rule of Law Project and was originally scheduled for February but needed to be rescheduled because of the Egyptian revolution.
