First Aid in the Field

This four-day course is complementary to the Field Security Training. Since “First Aid” covers a wide range of topics, this course focuses on aspects that are not included in any other ZIF training. The course offers an in-depth look into behaviour in emergency situations that can be encountered in a crisis environment. It does not only cover the classical first aid course content, but includes mission relevant aspects that are not taught elsewhere in a civilian context, such as patient stabilisation, transport of injured persons, burn injuries and hypothermia, chemical burn injuries, poisoning and how to deal with mass casualties. First Aid in the Field is held at the Medical Services of the Staff College of the German Armed Forces in Hamburg.

ZIF highly recommends this course to all experts intending to go on a mission assignment. Please note that this course is taught in German and takes place in Hamburg.
