International Advisory Board in Berlin

ZIF’s International Advisory Board met on 6/7 June to discuss mainly to focal points. On the one hand, it was discussed how peace operations are changing. There is a tendency towards smaller, more tailor-fit missions. This is the outcome of the board members’ discussion on the topic: “The end of Peacekeeping as we know it”.

On the other hand, the labor market for civilian expert profiles has been an issue of attention. It was discussed how experts could be attracted and which methods of advocacy might be feasible.

Board members were especially enthusiastic about the small-group and one-to-one sessions thereafter, a format in which members of the board sit down with ZIF staff to discuss a variety of topics in specialized groups. Twelve out of fifteen board members attended the meeting.
