The disarmament and demobilisation of ex-combatants is an important prerequisite for preventing a resurgence of violent acts. In addition, reintegration measures are a key element implemented by civilian personnel in close cooperation with local institutions and international development agencies.

You can expect to be involved in the following tasks:

• Establishing disarmament camps for the temporary accommodation and care of ex-combatants;
• Registering ex-combatants;
• Monitoring disarmament and demobilisation;
• Observing and analysing the social, political and economic framework conditions for reintegration;
• Carrying out measures for the distribution of reintegration aid;
• Designing and organising occupational re-training and training courses;
• Establishing advice centres;
• Supporting potential candidates in job searches.
