Institution Building and Governance

Activities in the area of institution building and governance help to build or strengthen ministries, parliaments and oversight bodies.

You can expect to be involved in the following tasks:

• Providing support to the building of institutional capabilities, including in the area of police, rule of law and public administration;
• Providing support to the establishment of work processes, clarification of responsibilities and functional specifications of institutions;
• Providing support through qualification measures and training courses (capacity building);
• Strengthening the oversight function of parliaments and civil society;
• Developing measures to strengthen transparency, with a focus on budget planning, resource management and public accountability;
• Developing initiatives to combat corruption and money laundering;
• Advising on the restoration of state authority;
• Establishing a mechanism to promote intensive exchange between civil society and state authorities.
