The deadline for the current application process for the ZIF Expert Pool is 30 September 2020. In this process our focus areas for professional background and language skills are the following (these are desirable but not preconditions for being considered in the selection process):

  • French language skills (C1 and above)
  • Russian language skills (B2 and above)
  • Expertise and proven leadership in the area of security sector reform (training, advice and capacity building for police, combatting organised crime and counterterrorism)
  • Law professionals (prosecutors, criminal defence lawyers) with experience in judicial reform processes and the cooperation between prosecutors and investigators.
  • Expertise and professional experience in the area of human rights and democratisation, combined with a willingness to deploy to the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine.

In your motivational statement, please state the international organisation (EU, OSCE, UN, NATO, OAS) whose peace operation you wish to deploy to. Please explain the extent to which you have expertise and professional experience in the focus areas. Please note whether you are on a UN roster.

The ZIF concept Civilian Expert explains what we expect from our deployed seconded experts. It also reflects ZIF’s understanding of its own role vis-à-vis partner organisations, such as the EU, OSCE, UN, NATO and others.
