Mission preparation: 10th Humanitarian Briefing in Berlin

| ZIF news

The first Humanitarian Briefing of this year took place from 3 to 5 May in Berlin with ten participants. The training is part of the mission preparation for humanitarian experts who are interested in standby deployments to UN OCHA, WFP, UNHCR, WHO or UNICEF.

After getting to know each other in the rooms of ZIF at Ludwigkirchplatz, the participants went to Schloss Ziethen in Kremmen, for two intensive training days. Topics covered were how to get into a surge mission, peer support, duty of care, humanitarian principles and the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus. The participants had the chance to exchange their previous experiences in crisis contexts as they bring different expertise in the areas of WASH, protection and logistics, among others. A highlight for the ZIF team: meeting our future deployees in person and the exciting exchange about their experiences so far!

The Humanitarian Briefing was financed by the Federal Foreign Office.
