EEAS Pool of Mediators Certificate Program

From October 12 to 22, ZIF organized for the first time in cooperation with the European External Action Service (EEAS) a virtual and tailor-made training and coaching program for the members of the new EEAS Pool of mediators.

For two weeks the 20 invited high-level EU diplomats met daily online with international renowned mediation experts to practice and discuss specific instruments and topics of peace mediation such as process design, conflict analysis, communication techniques, transitional justice and inclusivity in interactive and participatory formats.

The mediation experts’ input was complemented by the insights of the highly experienced participants in their diverse working contexts around the world. In a structured yet informal setting, the certificate program provided also a protected space for peer-exchange and collegial consultation on peace mediation challenges.
