From June 7 to 9, more than 120 participants gathered for the annual conference of the European Association of Peace Operations Training Centres (EAPTC) to discuss partnership opportunities in the field of mission trainings. Organized by the European Security and Defence College (ESDC), the event was held in Brussels. The EAPTC conference brings together experts from military, police, civilian and diplomatic training institutions, think tanks as well as universities to work together on the further development and networking of training in the sense of the Comprehensive Approach.

ZIF was represented at the event together with German partners of the Training Partner Platform (TPP). In addition to international networking, various German training institutions of the military, police, and civilian experts have joined forces in the TPP and jointly organize courses on mission preparation. Tobias Pietz, Deputy Head of the Analysis Unit, was joined for the introductory session. Predrag Tapavicki, Team Training Leader, and Irene-Maria Eich, ZIF Training Officer, were part of the event panels.

The event was held in light of the 20th anniversary of the first EU missions under the Common Security and Defense Policy. Furthermore, the participants discussed the future of UN peacekeeping and topics around leadership, operational knowledge and environmental issues among many others.
