Last Friday, German Federal Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock visited the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) Georgia as part of her journey to North Macedonia and Georgia. Germany provides the most personnel for the mission – amongst them 11 civil experts seconded by the ZIF. Our experts shared impressions on their work and everyday life in the mission with the Minister. She was briefed by the Head of Mission at the administrative boundary line (ABL) in Odzisi, who highlighted the negative impact of the ‘borderization’ for the local population. The visit was coordinated on behalf of the EUMM by Marc Quedenbaum, Executive Officer to the Head of Mission seconded by ZIF. Baerbock highlighted the EUMM as "an important and visible contribution by the EU for stability in Georgia".
