The Security Council today renewed the mandate of the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) in the Golan for six months, until 30 June 2022, requesting the Secretary-General to ensure that the mission has the required capacity and resources to fulfil its mandate in a safe and secure way.

The Israeli army Tuesday destroyed a Syrian regime observation post in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, the third such operation in a year, a spokesman said. … He said Israeli troops attacked and blew up the post, adding that it would not “tolerate any attempt to violate the sovereignty” of the Jewish state. 

Israeli night raids targeting arms depots and military positions in eastern Syria killed at least nine Syrian soldiers and 31 allied fighters, in the deadliest raids since 2018, a war monitor said Wednesday.

In a rare statement acknowledging strikes in neighbouring Syria, the army said the targets included “observation posts and intelligence collection systems, anti-aircraft artillery facilities and command and control systems” in Syrian army bases.
