Alischa Kugel has been a lead, peacebuilding & mediation of the Policy, Partnerships & Innovation team since 2025, having previously spent several years as deputy head in the former International Capacity Development team for several years after joining ZIF's Analysis team as a visiting researcher. 

As Senior Programme Officer for Crisis Diplomacy and Global Peace Operations at the New York University Center on International Cooperation, she was responsible for the Annual Review of Global Peace Operations. She has also worked as a policy analyst at the UN Liaison Office of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation and as a programme coordinator and researcher at Global Action on Aging and the Global Policy Forum in New York.
