Since 2025, Tobias Pietz has been a lead, climate security & EU of the Policy, Partnerships & Innovation team, after spending several years as deputy head for several years in our former Analysis team. He joined ZIF in late 2006, managing various research and cooperation projects. His previous professional experiences include working as a research associate at the Bonn International Centre for Conflict Studies (BICC) and being a fellow of the German Foundation for Peace Research and the Carlo Schmid Program. He holds a Master's degree in Peace and Security Studies.

  •  Liaison for German Bundestag (inter alia subcommittee on civilian crisis prevention)
  • Short-term election observer for OSCE
  • Member of the Integrated DDR Training Group
