Council appoints new Head of Mission for EUMA

The Council appointed Satu Koivu as new Head of Mission for the European Union Mission in Armenia (EUMA). She will take up her duties on 6 March 2026, taking over from Markus Ritter. Satu Koivu is a Finnish senior police officer with more than 35 years of national and international experience.

Vance in Armenia as US looks to consolidate Caucasus peace plan

US Vice President JD Vance arrived in Armenia on February 9 to kick off a four-day visit to the Caucasus in support of a US-brokered peace deal and to push a strategic transit corridor Washington sees as central to reshaping trade, energy, and influence in the region.

US and Armenia unveil TRIPP development blueprint

The United States and Armenia have agreed on an implementation framework to develop a trade corridor that is the centerpiece of the provisional Armenian-Azerbaijani peace deal signed last summer in Washington. According to the document, the United States will have a majority stake in developing infrastructure for what is known as the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP).

OSCE completes closure of Minsk Process and related structures

The OSCE finalized the closure of the Minsk Process and its related structures at 23:59 on 30 November 2025, in line with the Ministerial Council decision MC.DEC/1/25 adopted on 1 September 2025, following a Joint Appeal from Armenia and Azerbaijan to the Finnish Chairpersonship of the OSCE.

Why the OSCE Minsk Group Is ending -- and what comes next
