New ZIF Study: Give „P“ a Chance: Peacebuilding, Peace Operations and the HDP-Nexus

The growing number of humanitarian crises worldwide, often in combination with violent conflict, has given new emphasis to the need to link the work of humanitarian, development and peace actors more closely. In doing so, the Humanitarian-Development-Peace (HDP) nexus is the latest incarnation of a discourse on comprehensive approaches. However, until today, the nexus is mainly discussed in development and humanitarian aid circles. In a ZIF Study Carina Böttcher and Andreas Wittkowsky examine in how far peace – i.e. the “P” – has become an equal third pillar of the HDP nexus and reflect on which steps are appropriate to further achieve this goal.
