This fall, ZIF is conducting two ‘in-mission trainings’ for the EU Advisory Mission (EUAM) Ukraine on the topics of ‘Increasing Stress Resilience’ and ‘Gender Mainstreaming; Women, Peace & Security (WPS) and Policing’. The two courses were developed specifically for the mission and its staff and hence adapted to their needs. Both courses consist of online modules in which the participants also work independently and self-paced on some of the learning content.

The aim of ZIF’s course on ‘Gender mainstreaming, WPS and policing’ is to sensitize the 12 participants - mainly from the mission’s police unit - to gender-responsive policing. This includes preventing and responding to gender-based violence, supporting women’s participation and facilitating dialogue between EUAM Police Advisors and the National Police of Ukraine to support gender-responsive policing. The course is organized in cooperation with the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance (DCAF).

The second course deals with the psychological reactions to stress in order to introduce individual and collective coping strategies. The participating EUAM employees, who live and work under very demanding war-driven security conditions, get to learn new tools such as stress reduction techniques. The training is designed as a stand-alone online course that all EUAM members can access at any time

ZIF regularly conducts in-mission trainings: the tailor-made format and customized content enable the missions to cover specific training needs. ZIF is thus not only a strong partner as a seconding agency, but also stands for sustainable crisis management and duty of care in the area of training.
