First official visit by the Civilian Operations Commander Francisco Estebán Perez

As part of his first offical visit to Berlin, the new Civilian Operations Commander and Director of the CPCC, Francisco Estebán Perez, met with ZIF-representatives to talk about cooperation in EU peace missions. The CPCC is the Directorate of the European External Action Service and serves as the Operational Headquarters for the civilian Common Security and Defense Policy (CSDP) Missions. ZIF plans to further strengthen the support for the CSDP. Currently, ZIF seconds 57 civilian experts in CSDP missions.

“We were glad to welcome Estebán Perez as the new Civilian Operations Commander“, said Astrid Irrgang, Deputy Executive Director of ZIF. “The cooperation with the EU as a key player in international peace operations is of utmost importance to us. The CSDP missions majorly contribute to secure and stabalize regions of conflict around the world.“
