On 16 May, ZIF hosted the third part of its expert dialogue series on the wider Black Sea region entitled "How resilient is Moldova? The Challenges of an EU-candidate in the shadow of Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine". In a two-hour hybrid exchange, the experts from various foundations and think tanks as well as diplomats from the German Federal Foreign Office dealing with the region had the opportunity to  discuss questions about the European reform processes, hybrid threats and disinformation from Russia, as well as possible civil society cooperation.

The starting point for the lively exchange was a high-level panel with contributions from Stanislav Secrieru (European Union Institute for Security Studies), Victoria Olari (Atlantic Council's Digital Forensic Research Lab) and Mihail Sirkeli (journalist/Nokta Live). The panel contributions were commented by Anastasia Pociumban (German Council on Foreign Relations) and moderated by Wilfried Jilge of ZIF's International Capacity Development Team.
