Applications for ZIF Expert Pool open until April 15

From March 16 to April 15, 2026, the Center for International Peace Operations (ZIF) gGmbh is opening its “ZIF Expert Pool” personnel pool for the areas of expertise of peace operations and humanitarian aid. During this period, interested parties with the relevant qualifications and experience can apply for admission to the Expert Pool via the ZIF Expert Pool Database ventus.

To enable the ZIF to continue supporting international organizations in currently relevant fields, we are looking for civilian experts who are particularly interested in working for peace in the following areas:

  • Security policy
  • Hybrid threats, in particular cybersecurity and strategic communication
  • Transitional justice and/or accountability
  • Security sector reform
  • Strategic advice on EU policy & enlargement
  • Sanctions

In the area of humanitarian aid, the focus this year is on:

  • Information Management
  • Wash, Sanitation and Hygiene
  • Logistics and Supply
  • Humanitarian Access
  • Cash and Voucher Assistance
  • Shelter and Site Management
  • Cluster Coordinationn

In order to be able to deploy civilian experts on short notice (“seconding”), the ZIF has been building up the ZIF Expert Pool since 2002 with specialists and managers from a wide range of fields. The ZIF is particularly looking for experts in the fields mentioned above, preferably with several years of management experience and work experience abroad. We especially encourage women to apply.
A basic requirement is proficiency in German.

In order to present the application process, possible areas of deployment, and the path to deployment via the Expert Pool in more detail and to answer questions, the ZIF is hosting two digital information events: 

On March 19 between 12 noon and 1 p.m., there will be an information and Q&A session specifically for interested women, and on March 30, also between 12 noon and 1 p.m., there will be a general session.
