Continuation of the ZIF/EEAS cooperation for the EEAS mediator pool

Since 2020, ZIF has been supporting the capacity building of the members of Pool of Mediators of the European External Action Service (EEAS) with different training, coaching and exchange formats.

On 2 June 15 members of the pool intensively exchanged in an interactive and participatory format with two international mediation experts on the topic of ceasefire negotiations. Juanita Millán Hernandez, current Security Arrangements Expert in the Standby Team of Senior Mediation Advisers of the United Nations, and Jeffrey Mapendere, former Security Arrangements Expert in the UN Standby Team, provided insightful contributions illustrated by real examples from their numerous assignments worldwide. In a collegial atmosphere, the extensive exchange was complemented by contributions from the diverse work contexts and experiences of the participants.
