ZIF took part in this year’s digital mid-annual consultations of the Standby Partnership (SBP) network. Almost 60 representatives from numerous UN agencies as well as partner organizations gathered in front of their computer screens spread across five continents.

The participants exchanged impressions and ideas, inter alia, on the implementation of the SBP Strategic Framework 2020-22, in particular the new SBP secretariat structure and the results of the network’s three working groups on Monitoring, Evaluation, Assessment and Learning (MEAL), Duty of Care, and Training. The aim of the SBP network is, inter alia, to enhance the effectiveness of multilateral humanitarian aid through improved coordination and consultation between the partners involved.

In addition to its membership in the SBP Steering Committee, ZIF is actively involved in all three working groups.

ZIF has been a member of the SBP network since 2011 and supports OCHA and WFP, inter alia, with standby deployments in humanitarian crisis operations. In addition, ZIF contributes to the funding of the SBP secretariat through the generous financial support by the Federal Foreign Office.
