Peace Mediation Capacity Building Program for and with the Maltese MFEA

Over the course of three days, Maltese diplomats were trained in topics and techniques related to peace mediation. In a multifaceted tailor-made training program, the 10 participants engaged in vivid discussions on best practices, delved deeper into specific areas of peace mediation through interactive roles plays, and learned more about peace mediation topics and tools, such as process design and conflict analysis. The face-to-face format was complemented by virtual sessions in which international experts shared their own experiences in peace mediation and engaged in discussions with the participants on selected case studies.

In addition to the ZIF training team, the program was accompanied by trainers and resource persons from the Berghof Foundation, the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue and the Center for Security Studies ETH Zurich.
