UNDSS new ZIF StandBy Partner for humanitarian deployments
We are broadening our portfolio of interesting secondment options with the UN Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) and can now contribute expertise from Germany to the UN's global security management.
This offers civilian specialists from Germany another opportunity to take part in a short-term humanitarian missions for a UN organization. The UN DSS is responsible for the safety of personnel in missions, peacekeeping and peacebuilding worldwide. Its work has become evermore important in recent years as humanitarian aid workers have increasingly become the target of attacks in conflicts.
The new agreement between ZIF and UNDSS is part of the StandBy Partnership Network, an association of personnel-providing institutions for humanitarian crisis response of UN organisations.
This new partnership strengthens UNDSS’s ability to deploy expert support where it is needed most—from high-risk environments to fast-moving humanitarian emergencies. Together, we will boost rapid deployment capacity, inject specialized expertise and enable smarter, faster support to field teams - enabling programme delivery and supporting those who serve.
