| Video

A key objective of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on "Women, Peace and Security" is the participation of women in political processes and institutions in conflict management and prevention. While the resolution fostered important achievements over the past 20 years, women are still not adequately represented in the majority of peace processes. In March 2021, the German government published its third national action plan regarding the implementation of Resolution 1325.

How can Germany increase the impact of women at negotiation tables? How much progress has been made since the adoption of Resolution 1325? And what are the next steps in order to fully exploit the resolution’s potential?
