ZIF & EEAS join once again forces for the capacity building of the EEAS Pool of Mediators

As part of its mediation support activities, ZIF has been supporting since 2020 the capacity building of the members of the Pool of Mediators of the European External Action Service (EEAS) with different training, coaching and exchange formats.

On 28 September, 15 members of the pool met online for an interactive and participatory exchange on the topic of transitional justice. Laura Davis, Senior Conflict and Transitional Justice Expert, provided an insightful contribution on the concept, framework and mechanisms of transitional justice in EU peace mediation illustrated by real examples from her numerous assignments worldwide. Through a scenario-based group work, the participants gained an enhanced understanding of the challenges, opportunities and dynamics of transitional justice in the wider context of peace and mediation processes. In a collegial atmosphere and a protected setting, the lively exchange was complemented by the participants’ contributions from their different work contexts and experiences.
