Burhan appoints Kamil Idris as prime minister

Head of the Sudanese Sovereign Council Abdel Fattah al-Burhan on Monday appointed Kamil al-Tayeb Idris prime minister and appointed two women members of the transitional Sovereign Council, representing Eastern and Central Sudan.

Drone attacks cut power across Khartoum state

Drone attacks cut power across Khartoum and the surrounding state, authorities said on Thursday, as Rapid Support Forces paramilitaries pressed on with a campaign of long-distance attacks more than two years into their war with Sudan's army. The RSF, which has largely been pushed out of central Sudan in recent months, has switched tactics from ground assaults to drone attacks on power stations, dams and other infrastructure in army-held territory.

UAE sent Chinese weapons to Sudan despite embargo - AI

The UAE is sending advanced Chinese-made weaponry to Sudan in defiance of an arms embargo, according to a new report. Amnesty International said its investigation found that weaponry made in China had been captured in Khartoum.

Port Sudan: Aid officials call for greater protection as drone attacks continue

The UN has renewed its call to end the brutal conflict in Sudan after a surge in drone strikes, including in Port Sudan — the vital hub and lifeline for humanitarian aid.  The escalation is occurring as war grinds on between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), who appear to be targeting airports in each other’s areas of control.

ICJ says it has no jurisdiction in genocide case against UAE

The Netherlands-based International Court of Justice (ICJ) on Monday dismissed Sudan's claim that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) had fueled genocide in Darfur. Last month, Khartoum argued before the UN's top court that the UAE was violating the Genocide Convention by supplying weapons to paramilitary forces.

Horrors in Sudan know no bounds, warns Türk, urging an end to the conflict

The horror unfolding in Sudan knows no bounds. Just three days ago, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) launched coordinated attacks from multiple directions on the besieged city of El Fasher and Abu Shouk camp, killing at least 40 civilians. This brings the confirmed number of civilians killed in North Darfur to at least 542 in just the last three weeks. The actual death toll is likely much higher.
