Duty of Care Day of Excellence at the OSCE
Last year the OSCE co-hosted the 5th Duty of Care Roundtable in close cooperation with the German Center for International Peace Operations, the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Swedish Folke Bernadotte Academy and the UK Stabilization Unit.
The Director of the Department of the Human Resources, Jean-Claude Villemonteix, and the Chairperson of the OSCE Staff Committee, Mr. Nizar Zaher, cordially invited HR professionals and Staff Representatives of the OSCE and Vienna based International Organizations to the DHR Duty of Care Day of Excellence in the premises of the Hofburg in Vienna on 13 December.
The OSCE Secretary General, Ambassador Thomas Greminger, welcomed the keynote speakers and participants by stating that the Day of Excellence demonstrated shared commitment to continued co-operation and exchange of experiences on the duty of care.
Keynote speakers UN Under-Secretary General and Chairman of the International Civil Service Commission, Ambassador Larbi Djacta, and the Chief Monitor of the Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine, Ambassador Halit Cevik reassured their commitment to the Duty of Care agenda.
The Deputy Director of the seconding agency of Germany (ZIF), Astrid Irrgang, and the Head of the Swiss Expert Pool for Peacekeeping joined the keynote speakers in their affirmation of the importance of Duty of Care.
It was extremely rewarding to welcome more than 150 participants to this high-level event.
