From 14th to 17th February 2023, the partners of the Training Partner Platform (TPP) - Federal Police / Lübeck, State Office for Education, Training and Personnel Affairs of the Police NRW / Brühl, Baden-Württemberg Police College / Böblingen, UN Training Centre of the German Armed Forces / Hammelburg - met for an extraordinary brainstorming session in Berlin, hosted by the ZIF Training Unit.

ZIF had invited to discuss the effects and consequences of the current political world situation and the "Zeitenwende" on current and future peace operations. In a next step, the resulting necessary adjustments in the field of mission preparation and training were discussed and developed.

In order to create synergy effects and to proceed in a division of labor, existing course offerings of the individual partner organizations are now being examined and planned training projects are being compared; both on a national and international level. A follow-up meeting to continue the stocktaking is planned for the beginning of July 2023.

A comprehensive approach to training and pre-deployment preparation has proven a winning formula for over ten years now. In order to promote mutual understanding and cooperation between civilian, police and military experts in peace operations, we work together with our partners to develop concepts for integrated training and to jointly implement training measures. The TPP serves as an information hub and space to advance the development of common training activities.
