Humanitarian experts for UN standby missions: Humanitarian pool opening 2022

In order to provide rapid assistance in the aftermath of severe natural disasters, in conflicts and in deteriorating humanitarian situations, UN member states can provide gratis personnel to humanitarian UN organizations for short-term and time-limited missions. The affected people can thus be helped more quickly and crises can be better managed.

Since 2011, ZIF has been deploying German humanitarian experts to UN partner organizations on behalf of the Federal Foreign Office when these organizations request support for extraordinary personnel needs. In order to select, prepare and deploy German humanitarian experts, we manage the ZIF Expert Pool.

Currently, ZIF deploys humanitarian experts to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN-OCHA), the World Food Programme (WFP) and the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR). In order to continue to adequately support these UN partners with experts and to prepare new partnerships, ZIF is looking for additional humanitarian experts to strengthen the ZIF Expert Pool.
