Libyans reach deal on elections, UN says

Libyan delegates have agreed on a plan to hold elections for parliament and president within 18 months as part of a process to end a decade of violence and instability in the country. Acting U.N. Libya envoy Stephanie Williams called the development a “breakthrough.”

The UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has announced the launch of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum, following the signing of a permanent ceasefire agreement in the strife-torn country. … The Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) is a fully inclusive intra-Libyan political dialogue established by the Berlin Conference Outcomes, last January, which were endorsed by Security Council resolutions 2510 and 2542.

UN mediator 'very optimistic' about latest steps in Libya peace talks

Greece takes over IRINI Force Command

The new Force Commander of Operation EUNAVFORM MED IRINI is Commodore Theodoros Mikropoulos from Greece. Starting from today, he will take over the command of assets at sea, while Italy’s Rear Admiral Fabio Agostini will continue to guide the Operation from the Operational Headquarters in Rome.

Libyan dialogue delegations agree on ending transitional phase

The two delegations of the Tobruk-based House of Representatives (HoR) and the Tripoli-based High Council of State (HCS), meeting in Cairo, Egypt, have agreed to end the transitional phase in Libya and start preparations for a permanent phase of governance.
