UN expert says human rights violations rage on in Sudan

The human rights expert appointed by the UN High Commissioner to monitor Sudan, Radhoune Noucier, told UN News on Monday that everything from basic human rights to the economy and the legal system, have been decimated by the on-going war between rival militaries.

Sudan suspends membership in IGAD

The government of war-torn Sudan on Saturday informed Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) it is suspending its membership in the bloc. … At its summit on Thursday, IGAD reiterated its call for "an immediate and unconditional ceasefire" in the "unjust war affecting the people" of Sudan. … A final communique from the extraordinary assembly gave the generals two weeks to meet.

Ethnic killings in one Sudan city left up to 15,000 dead, UN report says

UN Fact-Finding Mission on Sudan begins work
