HRW: Azerbaijan mistreats Armenian prisoners of war

Ethnic Armenian troops captured in the recent Nagorno-Karabakh fighting have been treated inhumanely on many occasions by Azerbaijani forces, being subjected to physical abuse and humiliation, Human Rights Watch (HRW) says in a new report.

Turkey approves sending troops to joint Russian monitoring center in Azerbaijan

A The Turkish parliament has passed a resolution to send troops to monitor a Russia-brokered peace accord between Azerbaijan and Armenia. …  The resolution grants a one-year mandate to deploy Turkish soldiers and civilian support to a joint monitoring center “at a place Azerbaijan will determine” and in line with strategic agreements between the two countries.

New anti-government protests continue In Yerevan amid fury over Karabakh peace deal

Armenian opposition groups are continuing their protests to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinian over the terms he agreed to in a Russian-brokered accord with Azerbaijan … Hours before the planned rally on November 12, the Special Investigation Service said 10 prominent opposition figures had been arrested for "organizing illegal violent mass disorder.”

No role for EU states in Nagorno-Karabakh peacekeeping, Russia says

European monitors are not invited to help enforce a new peace deal between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Russia's EU ambassador has told EUobserver. But Western diplomacy might be helpful in future talks on a permanent peace accord, Vladimir Chizhov added.
