Moldova's new president calls for Russian troops to withdraw from territory

Chicu reshuffles Moldovan government ahead of presidential run-off

Moldovan Prime Minister Ion Chicu reshuffled his cabinet on Monday with five new ministers after his coalition partners from the Democratic Party, PD, redrew their ministers on Saturday, ahead of the run-off for the presidential elections due next Sunday, November 15.

Moldova Presidential election heads for a second round

Moldova’s Central Election Commission (CEC) announced early Monday that the opposition leader won more votes than the incumbent president in the presidential election, but not enough to avoid a run-off. The CEC said that with almost all ballots counted, former Prime Minister Maia Sandu had 36.10% of the vote, while President Igor Dodon had 32.66%. The second round of voting is scheduled for November 15.
